We have held ISO 9002 since 1992 and are prime movers in efforts to standardise performance claims in our industry, to ensure that you, the customer, can make fair and meaningful comparison of the products available on the market. This has resulted in the current British Standard on spill control products BS7959.

UK Spill Association

The UK Spill Association (UKSpill) represents companies, organisations and individuals working in the oil spill industry in the UK and is recognised by the UK Environmental and Maritime Regulators as the national industry body for the commercial and related interests of the industry. UKSpill membership is committed to providing their customers with the highest quality products and services.

RISQS Qualification Scheme

Darcy are accredited to the RISQS. RISQS is the UK rail industry supplier registration and qualification scheme. Used extensively by procurement, engineering, safety and quality professionals as well as organisations who need to comply with European Procurement Legislation and Railway Group Standards.

UVDB Audited

Achilles operates the UVDB supplier management service on behalf of all the major UK utility organisations. As Darcy are registering and pre-qualifyied with this service we have become part of an industry-wide scheme and as such our company information is searchable by all the Utility Sector buying organisations that subscribe to the system.

The UVDB Audited assessment service focuses on risk critical issues and provides demonstrable compliance to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.

CHAS

CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) was created to improve health and safety standards across the UK.​

The aims of Chas are:

  • To simplify health and safety contractor assessment by standardising requirements.
  • To allow companies to avoid undergoing health and safety assessments for every job.

British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF)

The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) is the leading trade body within the safety industry. It has some 160 members ranging from manufacturers and distributors, through to test houses, certification bodies and safety professionals. This membership is accommodated within six sector trade associations.

Safe Contractor Approved

Darcy is one of the latest group of successful companies to join a leading edge scheme, designed to help industry improve its safety record. Our accreditation from SAFE contractor, recognises our very high standards of health and safety practise.

Our application for SAFE contractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across our business. Darran Hughes; Operations Director of SAFE contractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies"." More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Darcy has done.

UK Harbour Masters Association

The Harbour Masters’ Association of the United Kingdom, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man (UKHMA) was formed in May 1993 at an inaugural meeting held at the University of Wales in Cardiff.

The organisation is a professional association of harbour masters. The Association consists of seven regional constituencies, including an active group in Scotland that includes both mainland and island Members.

As a company whose business includes the supply of spill prevention, control and clean up products that relate directly to harbour masters' duties or needs Darcy felt dutybound to become involved with the UKHMA to ensure complete environmental protection.
